Samuel was born in Seneca County, Ohio on December 20, 1851.  Sam was the fourth child of George and Caroline Marshall. 
Sam married his first cousin Mary Sophia Marshall Marshall. on August 11, 1874 in Hastings, Michigan. She was known by her middle name Sophia.
Sophia was born December 10, 1854, also in Seneca County, Ohio.  Twin to Mary S. (believed to have died as an infant). 
Sam and Sophia had four children, Curtis, Edna, Glenn and Laurel.
Sophia was killed on May 6, 1909 at the age of 54. A horse and buggy accident when the horse was spooked by a passing train.

Sam remarried to Mabel ????. Mabel died July 2, 1957.

Samuel died in May 14, 1934 at t he age of 82. Both are buried at the Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville, Michigan.

Samuel, after Sophia's passing, married Mable R Unk Marshall . Mable was born on July 2, 1862. Mabel, at 95 years of age, passed away in 1957.
