George Marchael (Changed to Marshall about 1851) was born in Bavaria, Germany (Likely Baden Baden) around 1786. George married ELIZABETHIA (maiden name unknown) around 1814. George and Elizabethia, with there 4 children moved to the United States in 1833. Sailed from Le Havre, France to New York City aboard the Brig Cervantes. Then on to Seneca County, Ohio where they settled in Venice Township. John was born in 1833, but the census records indicate birth was in Bavaria and not in the U.S. Still the passenger list aboard the Brig Cervantes makes no mention of him being a passenger. George and sons Jacob, George Jr, and John moved farming operations to Maple Grove Township, in Barry County Michigan around 1851. The families did not move to Michigan until around 1866.
